GORGOROTH To Tour Europe With 1349
August 10, 2004Norwegian black metallers GORGOROTH are planning on embarking on a European tour with 1349 in October, according to a posting on the band's web site. A mini-tour of Mexico is scheduled for November.
As previously reported, GORGOROTH are rumored to be on the verge of signing a new record deal with the French label Season of Mist. The band, who were previously signed to Nuclear Blast Records, have completed the songwriting process for their upcoming album, "Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam", and will be holding drummer auditions later this month.
GORGOROTH frontman Gaahl will participate in a tribute gig in honor of late BATHORY mainman Quorthon at this year's Hole in the Sky Festival on Saturday, August 28 in bergen, Norway.
GORGOROTH drew international attention in early February after they were accused of "offending religious feelings" during a concert in Poland. The band were also suspected of breaching the Polish law on protection of animals by displaying the severed and impaled heads of sheep as part of their stage act.
